Why should I purchase from Travel Points International?
Travelers who purchase a points membership package through Travel Points International receive a tremendous amount of savings over online rates and overall retail rates. The best part about purchasing through Travel Points International is that we are not selling you a timeshare. While most of the Points programs or vacation clubs on the market are selling you resort ownership, TPI is different because we are setting you up with a resort wholesaler (Ixtapa Palace Resort) that can sell the Points without the deeds, maintenance fees, or ownership obligations.
Am I buying a timeshare?
No, you are not purchasing a timeshare or a leased property in any way. What you are purchasing is a service. Your membership package provides you a set amount of annual RCI points thru Ixtapa Palace Resort, wholesale savings on “rented” Points, and access to various travel related promotions which the member will be able to exchange services purchased for various services offered by the RCI. What makes this club so special is that access to these membership benefits are typically only available if you purchase a timeshare affiliated with RCI.
What is RCI?
Founded in 1974 as an exchange service for condominium owners called Resort Condominiums International, RCI quickly became a driving force for growth within timeshare, and has been at the forefront of the vacation ownership industry ever since. Today, the company has over 4,000 affiliated resorts located in 100 countries, with over three million subscribing members living in more than 200 countries. RCI's exchange systems offer consumers the ultimate flexibility in vacations with more quality resort destinations and leisure product choices in more countries than any other service. Since its inception, RCI has arranged exchange vacations for more than 54 million people worldwide.
How is it possible to sell RCI points if without selling a timeshare?
TPI has teamed up with Ixtapa Palace Resort, an elite RCI Point wholesaler, to be able to provide customers these Points packages and benefits without all of the costs and obligations that come from buying a timeshare. This distributor provides the ongoing service of transferring Points at a wholesale rate in order for the club members to exchanges these Points for accommodations at vacation venues, and does not involve the rental, purchase or right to use of any “real property.”
If I purchase a membership package through TPI, is it refundable?
Full refunds can only be made by confirming the cancellation, within three (3) business days from receipt of confirmation, with our Customer Service department. Are there any consultants that I can discuss the packages with in person?
Absolutely. You may call TPI’s main number at (407) 544-3830 and ask to speak to one of our package consultants. All of our service personnel who would love to provide more in-depth information about the program and discuss which package would best fit your needs.
Are there any maintenance fees or costs other than the initial membership?
There are absolutely no maintenance fees associated with this program as you are not purchasing a deeded property. Services of RCI are a separately contracted with the travel club member.
An annual cost of $124 will be due to RCI to renew their annual membership and applicable fees may apply including, but not limited to, transaction fees, domestic and international fees.
What happens if I need more Points?
If you need more Points to be able to fulfill your travel needs, you have two options. You can either wait to use your Points for one year so that you will have double the following year, or you can rent more Points. If you rent RCI Points through Ixtapa Palace Resort, your cost will be $.015/ Point as it is a wholesale rate, or you can purchase Points directly through RCI at $.02/ Point.
What happens if I can’t use all of my Points?
You can either let your remaining Points rollover to the following year and put them towards your next vacation, or you can use then for any number of last minute trips or towards Points partners.
What do “Weeks” mean in terms of calendar dates?
Each week corresponds to the actual calendar week, where the first Saturday in January would be “Week 1”. For the purpose of this program, a vacation week shall be from, generally, Saturday at 4:00 p.m. until the following Saturday at 10:00 a.m., unless otherwise specified.
Is there a way to get a Membership with more than 10,000 Points?
We are able to create a custom membership with a higher amount of reoccurring Points, but this membership level yields the best overall value for most individuals. The 10,000 annual Points are the minimum amount that RCI sets to be able to use their membership benefits, and serves to "get your foot in the door". Additional points can be "rented" through Ixtapa Palace Resort at $0.015/ point or at $0.02 through RCI as needed, and increasing the reoccurring Points to an account increases the annual cost to maintain them.
How do I make a reservation?
To reserve a week with your Points, you will need to have an active membership. All locations are subject to space and availability. You can view open availability by going to RCI.com or calling them directly at 317-805-9941.
